Oh, you thought what? This post was going to be about my ex-boyfriends? 'Fraid not‚—that's more topic for April Fools than Halloween—tricks and treats not withstanding. It's October—and for the two faithful readers still stopping by the Palace these days—you know all-too well that means my favorite holiday is at hand. Now in my last rambling post, I lamented that our impending floor demo was going to put the kabash on any Hallow's Eve observations—but I'm happy to report that will not be the case. PM and I have decided to hold off replacing our buggy boards until after the first of the year—so the holidays will proceed as normal—or as normal as usual, which, for us, I'm not sure can be construed as normal in any sense of the word. Regardless, I'm looking forward to decorating the Manor House for its first Halloween.
October also means Octoberfest and I'm not talking about lederhosen-clad hillbillies doing the chicken dance—I'm talking about seasonal beers from some of the finer brewmeisters. I'm partial to Spaten's Oktoberfest, but Sam Adam's brew of the same name will do in a pinch. I see several evenings at Brickstore in my immediate 30 day future—along with just as many 6 mile runs to minimize the damage.
Speaking of running —I've got a few races lined up over the next few weeks. The AID Atlanta AIDS Walk and 5K will be October 18 and, if you're feeling generous—you can click here and pony up some sponsorship cash. Halloween morning will find me at Oakland Cemetery for the Run Like Hell 5K. For the RLK, costumes are encouraged—ones you can run a 5K in, so elaborate headdresses are out, damn it to hell! Suggestions anyone?
Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
